We have six Clubs within COYSA. The majority of our over 4,700 players are in the five Clubs that register and form teams by the neighborhood you live in (Kelowna, Lake Country, Mission, Rutland, Westside). The teams from these areas play in the U7-18 COYSA league on Saturdays (except for U18) against teams from the other areas - all locally. U5-6 only play within their Club. Some teams train twice a week but the majority have one practice and one game per week. All teams are welcome to participate in tournaments, as long as it does not interfere at all with scheduled league games.
The teams in our sixth Club, Kelowna United, are made up of U11-18 players from over the entire area of our District (from Oyama to Peachland). They train twice a week and typically play games on Sundays. These teams play in the Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League against teams from other Interior cities (Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton, Salmon Arm). The U13-18 winners of TOYSL advance to Provincials.
The next level of youth play in our area is the BCSPL (BC Soccer Premier League). Those U13-18 teams are made up of players in different regions of the province. Players in the Interior play for TOFC (Thompson Okanagan FC) and play against teams from the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.
All three of these levels of youth soccer hold various player evaluations but Kelowna United and TOFC are coming up shortly. Please visit the links for details and contact them directly with any questions you may have:
